Purpose Each crew member wears a helmet and headset during the launch and reentry of the spacecraft. The headset lessens severe noise, and aids in communications between astronauts, as well as on ground flight controllers. A multiple headset adapter is used as its three outlets allow up to three crew members to share one available outlet, and all three individuals' microphones will be keyed in on communications.

Purpose The lower arm assembly is a part of the Extravehicular Mobility Unit or EMU, which is known as a space suit and is specifically located in the Arm Assembly. The Lower arm assembly is removable and adjustable to fit multiple astronauts’ sizes. The piece shown here is one part of many layers within the arm unit. It is the bladder layer made of urethane-coated nylon. This layer keeps the correct pressure for the body and holds oxygen for breathing.

Internally sewn pieces of binding lace line the upper arm edge: 8.25" and 9" respectively. Item is in superior condition.

Item is lined with multiple fabrics; 2 look to be rip-stop nylon the other is self lining. Nude Velcro in sewn to the inside. Clear plastic bag with 1 sticker and one piece of tape included. Item is in used but good condition.

Purpose TMG is a Thermal Micrometeoroid Garment and the Upper Arm is one part of a multi-layer and multi-part suit. The TMG layer protects against temperature changes and guards against high velocity micrometeoroids.
