Purpose Space Shuttles have cameras mounted at all angles on external tanks and solid rocket boosters. They monitor and assess other Shuttle systems in use and provide a live video feed that can be viewed by scientists at home. Monitoring the performance of systems insures the astronauts are safe and shuttles work at peak performance. Our artifact is an External Tank or ET Camera.

Purpose Cameras are used by the flight crew to document activities and operations inside and outside the orbiter. The 35mm camera is a motorized, battery-operated Nikon camera with reflex viewing; through-the-lens coupled light metering and automatic film advancement. The camera has the standard manual operation and three automatic (electrically controlled) modes- single exposure, continuous and time.

Description 16" long Canon video camera, XL-1 complete with viewfinder, red and white Canon strap, black hand strap, minus battery pack. Camera has bayonet mount for lens. Corresponding lens; 0069 and 0070 are mountable to this camcorder. Camera has three large identifying stickers on the right side of piece. Canon maroon shoulder strap included. Item is in very good condition.

Purpose PuFF stands for Pulmonary Function in Flight and PuFF hardware is used to determine the effects of no gravity, extra-vehicular activities and closed spacecraft environments have to crew health and well being. Our item has instructions for suggested configurations for the PuFF equipment. Further, it gives instructions on how to use the PuFF equipment on each crew member.

Purpose This card was used as part of a "technology driven kiosk experience" intended to show participants the benefits of space exploration and other NASA endeavors. The spacesmart website on the card was allowed to expire in 2011, and is now privately owned. The card is useful now only as a collector's item.
